Get the Look - Military Colors Inspired Eye Makeup

Updated 03/05/2011 & 03/06/2011

This is strictly my own personal opinion about the matter. All material uncovered was done through a public google internet search with a few different keyword entries.

Due to information uncovered and revealed about this company, I cannot in good conscience or good faith recommend anyone support this reportedly handmade, organic small business. If information had been disclosed prior to discovery by the shop owner herself, I would have no problem with continuing to purchase. Regretfully, the scope of the lie and how many different people it could have potentially affected and hurt leaves me no other choice than to say this is not an honest company to do business with.

For information as to why, you can read more below:

The requests are awesome, and just keep coming on in! I know I've been doing them out of order... But don't you worry! I'll have all the requested looks done- one way or another! Truth is- I've been so excited to get the requests done... I'm not writing them down in order! One of these days, I'll learn to use a notebook instead of an envelope... LOL Just sayin'!

As such, this was a look requested by Rebecca on my Facebook Page and really got me inspired. Why do just a color or two? Nahhh... I was going ALL out for this one! Thanks for this idea my friend! I hope to see you recreate it and show me!

While you don't need the exact colors I used to get this look, I'll list the colors and companies below so you can pick 'em up if you like... If you're really determined to get the look exactly like this. Basically, you'll need a medium-light green, a medium drab or Army green, and a darker moss toned one. I used black gel eyeliner, but you certainly can use pencil or liquid if you want.

The trick to getting the eyes to look so open is to make the liner on the inside corner of your upper lid as fine as possible. It defines your eye shape just slightly, and the dramatic thick line where your lashes start and the double wing at the outside corner of your eyes really makes them look open and wide. It also helps to tightline the lower lash line- to do that, you just need to apply a very small amount of the black to the lashes only. White eyeliner goes on your bottom waterline, and black to the top one. Voila! Curl those lashes- apply one or two coats of mascara- and you're ready to go!

I kept my lips really subdued. Don't get me wrong- a knockout sexy red would look amazing with the green eyes- but I wanted to really keep the attention to just that. The greens and brown of the eyes. The beautiful thing about this look- is that anyone can wear it. Greens universally look good on all skin tones- again, it's a matter of application and choosing the right colors. A berry toned lip pencil to lightly define my lips, and a swipe of shimmery pink lip gloss finished the look.

All in all, this look can be worn with just about any color except red. Remember- makeup isn't like a tattoo! You can make mistakes, and either cover it up, or wash it off and start over! Don't be afraid to experiment! This look would also look totally awesome if you applied fake eyelashes- talk about dramatic!

On my face:

Too Faced Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation in London Fair.
Physicians Formula Organics Mineral Foundation.
Wet 'N Wild Black Gel Eyeliner, MegaLength Mascara, White and Black Kohl Eyeliner Pencil.
Ulta Lip Liner Pencil in Berry.
Sally Hansen Satin Effects Lip Gloss in Delightful.

Eye Colors:
Orglamix colors in Vetiver, Olive, Espresso and Vanilla Birthday Cake.
Watermelon as Blush.
Magnetism Eye-Primer.

Moi Minerals Cosmetics in Slammin.

And there you have everything that's on my face!

There's few things I love as much as I enjoy doing retro-inspired pin up girl looks. And I don't mean the actual lingerie look on my body... No no no, we're talking what actually makes the look! I'm talking makeup. Dark eyeliner, a hint of color on the lids... And va-va-VOOM red lips!! Get your sexy on!

The beauty of this look is that it can be worn with anything- jeans and a t-shirt, or all dolled up to the nines- and it takes literally 5 minutes to do this. The video is long... Because I blabba-blabba-blabba! LOL

All the makeup I wear in the video is simple- two eyeshadows from My Beauty Addiction in Pink Quartz and Topaz, Midnight Mineral Eye Shadow from Orglamix Cosmetics to make my own eyeliner using MBA's Foiling and Lining Serum, and MegaLength Mascara from Wet 'N Wild. There are the eyes- seriously! Done!

I did forget to put blush on... For this look, either a peachy rosy color to brighten your cheeks, or a touch of bronzer will do the trick with a quick swipe just under your cheekbones. Again- this look is simple, Classic and SEXXXXY!

What are you waiting for?! To finish the look I had, I used Revlon ColorStay lipstick in Top Tomato- which is a perfect red for my skin tone- and BAM! Done! That quick and easy!

So all you sexy gals... I want to see pictures!!
If there's one look I insist you re-create..... It's this one!
