The Seven Deadly Sins - Wrath and Patienece Collaboration with Makeup Zombie

I've been fighting my computer nearly all day, hence the late posting of this look. Actually, officially, it's Friday. GAH! Nothing would please me more than to take this computer, walk it outside to my driveway, lay it down, AND DRIVE MY TRUCK OVER IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN UNTIL NOTHING IS LEFT BUT A BUSTED MESS OF PC PIECES. I really despise working on a PC. But until a time comes where a MacBook Pro or Air magically falls out of the sky, I'm stuck.

Rant: over.

Sin this week:

Wrath (Latin, ira), also known as "rage", may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Wrath, in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries. Wrath may persist long after the person who did another a grievous wrong is dead. Feelings of anger can manifest in different ways, including impatience, revenge, and vigilantism.

Wrath is the only sin not necessarily associated with selfishness or self-interest (although one can of course be wrathful for selfish reasons, such as jealousy, closely related to the sin of envy). Dante described vengeance as "love of justice perverted to revenge and spite". In its original form, the sin of anger also encompassed anger pointed internally rather than externally. Thus suicide was deemed as the ultimate, albeit tragic, expression of hatred directed inwardly, a final rejection of God's gifts.
So in lieu of words today, enjoy the pictures!

On face:
Arran Aromatics Moisturizing Cream
Meow Purr-Fect Puss Foundation in Siamese Inquisitive

On eyes:
Antoinette's Revolution Cosmetics Eye Shadows
Ladies In Waiting
Liasiaons
Guillotine
Revolution
Powdered Wigs
Physicians Formula Felt Marker in Ultrablack
WnW MegaPlump Mascara in Black

Lips:
Wet 'n Wild 911D

This is one of my "raccoon eyes" looks according to my folks. Whatever. I love how blue my eyes stand out when I have heavy liner on!

Of course, you can't forget the lovely opposite of my sin... The Virtuous Patience. Try to hold your laughter- I know, neither Wendi or I are the patient type. But we can at least pretend to be, right!? Head on over and check out her corresponding look!

Someone better be getting me some chocolate soon, I'm in serious mood swinging time and heads may roll. I think Pretzel M&M's will suffice. I've been eating them a lot.

And yes, this picture came out lighter/paler than the rest. I thought it highlighted the difference in my hair a bit better. As you can tell, the blonde is more the way it should look, the orange and brassiness mostly dissipated... And the red considerably lifted.
The Vitamin C Trick worked- look for it tomorrow!!!

The Seven Deadly Sins - Sloth and Diligence Collaboration with Makeup Zombie

Well, well, well... Blogger certainly hasn't been cooperating lately, now has it?! The plan for posting our Sins and Virtues looks on Thursday totally went down the tubes yesterday when everyone realized Blogger was down and out. Read only mode. GAHHHH!

Needless to say, Makeup Zombie and I have been eager and totally excited to share our looks this week with you. We were foaming at the mouth this week, though not literally. And what happens?! We can't post! Oh noes!! However- now that we're up and live again... Let's get to the good stuff.

I'm Virtuous (HA HA HA!) this week, taking on:

dil·i·gence-
Is steadfast application, assiduousness and industry — the virtue of hard work rather than the sin of careless sloth.
It makes me great this week. With great care (in my truck) I applied the colors. I even manged to put mascara on without poking my eye (on my way to the orthodontist) and I have to say myself, this is a kick ass look. It's one of my favorite combinations for a neutral, easy, and well... Good look. Can I pull it off or what!?

I didn't bother to check the morning I left to see what my Virtue of this week was. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was Diligence! I thought for sure I was going to have to re-create my look in a totally different way. However, this sufficed just fine. I actually loved wearing this... It's one of my easy looks, albeit having to create it in a moving vehicle- impressive, is it not?! And look at that eyeliner- perfection! The only thing I'm not super-impressed with is the fact that I forgot to set the liner on my bottom waterline- so it's mostly worn off. But the shadow underneath my lashes more than made up for that oops! moment.

On my Eyes:
My Beauty Addiction's Shadow-Poxy Eye Primer
Linnaeus Cosmetics Gemsbok Collection:
Kalahari on eye lid only
Fabled in entire crease, blended upwards and smoked out
Tough Stuff added to outer 1/2 of crease to darken, blended out
Also on lower lid tucked under my lashes
I used Stilts from LC as a brow highlighter
Wet 'N Wild Coloricon Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Black on upper lid, waterline, lower lashes
Tough Stuff applied over eyeliner
WnW MegaPlump Mascara in Black

Face:
Stila Petal Infusions moisturizing cream
UDPP under eyes
e.l.f. Concealer/Highlighter Wand under eyes
Meow Cosmetics Pampered-Puss Foundation in Siamese Inquisitive
Physicians Formula Illuminating Blush in Vintage Rose

Lips:
WnW MegaLast Lipstick in 901B
e.l.f. Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips

I think I almost could pull off looking "normal"... But don't let me fool you. I'm a sly one for certain!

Now, of course... Every virtue has a corresponding sin... So I suggest you hurry on over and take a look at Makeup Zombie's take on Sloth... It'll leave you wanting more! Get on over and check it out!

Again, there's a picture I took where I thought I was smiling, or at least smirking... I didn't realize I look like I'm on the verge of tears. The ride to the orthodontist didn't hurt that bad!!! So in case you're wondering, I was fine. I have no idea why or how I make some of these ridiculous faces- I wish I knew. Perhaps I should start making one funny face, or a few, from now on?! Maybe that will stop me from looking like I'm about to burst into tears... Maybe.

Anywho- do you like it?!

I'm still half-and-half with my hair. I love it. I hate it. I'm fixing it! The conditioner I've been using is helping the dried out sections recover from the bleaching, so I'll take care of more in about a week. Yay!

The Seven Deadly Sins - Greed and Charity Collaboration with Makeup Zombie

Ahhh, the smell of fresh, crisp bills. There's never enough for me to hold in my hands. The enormous vault of gold I keep. It's in a very well secured place, otherwise known as Fort Knox. Yes, all those gold bars are mine. Heh, I wish. If one is good, two is better. Ten is outstanding. I want more, more more! My sin of the week is:

Greed. It is an excessive desire to possess wealth or goods with the intention to keep it for one's self. Greed - like lust and gluttony - is a sin of excess. Greed is inappropriate expectation. However, greed is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of wealth, status, and power.
As a secular psychological concept, greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth.

Give it all to me. I want it all. Fame, riches, the big house. I know no bounds. And when I have it all, I'll still want more, more more!!! Oh yes, and a little announcement that is to be made is that these awesome posts are now moving to Thursdays! That's right, Makeup Zombie and I will be doing these posts every Thursday from now on! The next set of looks... Well, that remains to be seen!

On my face:
Arran Moisturizing Cream
UDPP under eyes
e.l.f. Concealer/Highlighter under eyes, on blemishes
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection on face
Meow Cosmetics Foundation in Purr-fect Puss in Siamese Inquisitive

Eyes:
BH Cosmetics 1st Edition 120 Palette matte greens in top tray- various shades on upper and lower lids.
Wet 'N Wild Coloricon Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Black on upper and lower waterlines
Shimmery dark green BH shadow over black liner on bottom waterline
Wet 'N Wild MegaPlump Mascara in Black

Cheeks:
Physicians Formula Illuminating Blush in Vintage Rose

Lips:
De-potted lipstick, not sure what brand or color
(I forgot to write it down!)

So there you have it. I'm greedy. I need money, send me riches, jewels, anything you can bear to part with that has any value and I can store in my treasure hoard. I need to add to my pile of goodies!

And of course, you always need a little bit of Charity to even out the balance of my Greed. So stop on by Makeup Zombie's page to check out her sweet look! Don't be fooled... We only look sweet and innocent when we do the "Virtue" looks *wink*

I was a little iffy about the liner in this look, because at first (believe it or not) I screwed it up and was going to start over... But I decided to make the best of the situation- and went very dramatic! Can you believe it even withstood the pouring rain today?!

Would you wear a look like this out?

The Seven Deadly Sins - Gluttony and Temperance with Makeup Zombie

Hello ladies and gents....

Getting this post up a wee bit late today- but better late than never, right? As you may know, the delightfully sinful Makeup Zombie has been a bit busy, as have I- so we had put our weekly "Sins and Virtues" collaboration on hold. Today I'm happy to announce.....  We're baaaaaack! I don't know about you- but I've been eager to come up with more of these... And positively dying to do my next one... But for now, I must exercise Temperance and hold myself under control. I can still hope though... Wednesday is coming up rather quickly!!

And I'm totally swiping Wendi's idea here, because it's absolutely brilliant... Definitions of Sins and Virtues! Ready, set, go...

tem·per·ance:

1
: moderation in action, thought, or feeling : restraint
2

a : habitual moderation in the indulgence of the appetites or passions

b : moderation in or abstinence from the use of alcoholic beverages

Temperance (Sophrosyne in Greek is defined as “moderation in action, thought, or feeling; restraint.” [1]) has been studied by religious thinkers, philosophers, and more recently, psychologists, particularly in the positive psychology movement. It is considered a virtue, a core value that can be seen consistently across time and cultures (see Historical and Religious Perspectives). It is considered one of the four cardinal virtues, for it is believed that no virtue could be sustained in the face of inability to control oneself, if the virtue was opposed to some desire. It is also one of the six main categories of the VIA Character Strengths (see Major Theoretical Approaches). Temperance is generally defined by control over excess, so that it has many such classes, such as abstinence, chastity, modesty, humility, prudence, self-regulation, and forgiveness and mercy; each of these involves restraining some impulse, such as sexual desire, vanity, or anger.

On my face:
Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream
UDPP under eyes
e.l.f. Concealer/Highlighter under eyes
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection brushed on face
Meow Cosmetics Mineral Foundation in Purr-fect Puss Siamese Inquisitive
Physicians Formula Illuminating Blush in Vintage Rose

Eyes:
My Beauty Addiction Shadow-Poxy Eye Primer
Scaredy Cat Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadows in:
Robin the Cradle
Smooze
Metamorphosis
Wet 'N Wild Coloricon Black Kohl Eyeliner
WNW MegaEyes Black Gel Eyeliner
WNW MegaPlump Mascara in Black

Now of course, you can't forget to swing on by and see Gluttony.... We are, after all, opposites of each other! And Wendi comes up with some of the best looks, don't you agree? And she certainly makes Gluttony attractive... Don't you think?

Who knew that sins and virtues could look so good?!
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I've eaten 5 Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs today and I don't feel an ounce of guilt. Wait a minute, wrong sin... Strike that confession from the record, if you will! Although, I suppose it's an exercise in control considering I have not yet finished the entire bag of delightfully delicious candy... Right??

The Seven Deadly Sins - Chastity and Lust Collaboration with Makeup Zombie

Aaaaaand we're back with our second look in this series, and here to please you of course. Makeup Zombie and I are running a collaboration that will last another 5 weeks... Since 2 are already down! Up this week is Chastity vs Lust.

And guess which one I was?? You've probably guessed by now...

I have so much fun doing these looks!
Each one is a challenge... Something that sets us out of our bounds, and presses us to come up with looks that doesn't really fit the "norm" for us. I do have to say, for me... These kind of "darker" looks are easier and more comfortable for me to pull off than their "easy, neutral" counterparts. Me, trying to pull off innocent?! Bah! It can be done though!!

On my eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Aromaleigh Colors
Rosmarino on inner 1/2 of lid
Plush Romantic on outer 1/2 of lid, and applied under bottom lashes
Velvet Dream in crease, blended upwards to fade
And more added to darken crease
Oops! Color in a pale, sparkly pink
Milani Kohl Eyeliner on waterlines
Velvet Dream patted over black liner on bottom waterline
WnW Black Kohl Eyeliner on top lid, smoked out with a brush
Plush Romantic smudged on over black liner, and tucked under bottom lashes
WnW MegaPlump Mascara

Face:
e.l.f. Concealer/Highlighter wand over blemishes
UDPP under eyes
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection on face
PF: Organics Mineral Foundation in Translucent Fair
PF Illuminating Blush in Vintage Rose
Lip Balm mixed with Velvet Dream to appear as a lip stain

And there you have my look for "Lust". Do you like it?
I'm so bummed out that Aromaleigh's going out of business... I'm positively dying over the colors I've received... I want more! Gimme more!!!

Wait, before you go... You MUST check out Wendi's look! Click her picture to see her post! Understand you have to... We're counterparts, and to look at one and not the other... Well... That's just not right!

I'm rockin these eyes as long as I can today... They're totally shimmery and sparkly!

The Seven Deadly Sins - Vice and Virtue Collaboration with Makeup Zombie

Hello to all my awesome readers!

Since Makeup Zombie Wendi had so much fun doing a collaborative work last time- with Good vs Evil- we've decided to take on another set of inspired looks. Yes, that's right... We'll be creating some intense looks based upon the Seven Deadly Sins, and the corresponding Seven Virtues.

The first one to the plate is Vice and Virtue.

Since I got to be "bad" last time, today... I'm Virtue. Yeah, I know what you're thinking... Not quite something I could pull off. But... At least I can look the part! Ha ha ha! That's where the makeup magic comes in of course. Pardon the sweatshirt- my plan was to have a really nice outfit on for this, but I ended up with my migraine back this morning and not enough time to get to the doctor after a quick couple pictures. I wanted to go with the theme... But what the heck. Win some, lose some... And at least I have the makeup done!!

So here we go... I like the muted tones of this look. Contrary to popular belief, I don't always wear bright makeup. I don't always do perfect wings on my eyes. It's amazing what a little makeup can do, as opposed to a lot. The differences are fun- and that's what I aim for!

Virtue includes:
Stila Petal Infusions Moisturizer
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection
e.l.f. Concealer/Highlighter
Physicians Formula Organics: Mineral Foundation in Translucent Fair
PF Illuminating Blush in Vintage Rose

Eyes:
My Beauty Addiction Shadow-Poxy Eye Primer
MBA Eye Shadow in Halo on eyelids, and lower waterline
Moi Minerals:
Shimmers and Pearls on brow bone
Valentine on outer V of eyes and in crease
Raze on bottom waterline
Wet 'N Wild Kohl Eyeliner in white (bottom waterline) and black (upper waterline, and a touch on top lid)
WnW MegaPlump Mascara

Done!

But of course, you have to check out  the opposite of Virtue... Which is Vice... So you're going to have to click on Makeup Zombie's picture to check hers out ;)

Good vs Evil : A Collaboration!

Updated 03/05/2011 & 03/06/2011

This is strictly my own personal opinion about the matter. All material uncovered was done through a public google internet search with a few different keyword entries.

Due to information uncovered and revealed about this company, I cannot in good conscience or good faith recommend anyone support this reportedly handmade, organic small business. If information had been disclosed prior to discovery by the shop owner herself, I would have no problem with continuing to purchase. Regretfully, the scope of the lie and how many different people it could have potentially affected and hurt leaves me no other choice than to say this is not an honest company to do business with.

For information as to why, you can read more below:

Gather round good and evil chicks... You're not going to want to pass up this epic collaboration of picture goodness coming your way.

In my exploration of makeup, I've been very fortunate to make some pretty awesome friends here online who share my obsession... Er.... Love of makeup and colors. Those who are unafraid to dive straight in and do an outrageous look, just because. For no special reason.

Without any further ado, the beautiful and talented Makeup Zombie and I will be releasing looks together with different themes and interpretations, colors, textures, and sharing with you what we create. Today we'll be kicking off with "Good vs Evil" looks.

I grabbed a suit jacket, my black fedora, and a sparkly chandelier necklace.... And rocked the "Mean Girl" look. All I needed was a Tommy-Gun, but I couldn't find one...What do you think!?
My eyes, I went super-dramatic on. After all, I'm supposed to be bad... The shadows were applied dry, with a precision brush to create the cut-crease, cat-eye swoop, and double wing at the outside corners of my eyes. I also used it to draw the double-wing on the inside corner of my eyes. I think I'm going to have to re-create this look and venture out one night... I'm seriously in love with it!
On my face:
e.l.f. Complexion Perfection
Physicians Formula Organics: Mineral Foundation in Translucent Fair
e.l.f. Concealer & Highlighter double-ended wand (blemishes & under eyes)
e.l.f. High Definition Powder

Eyes:
My Beauty Addiction Shadow-Poxy eye primer
Orglamix Stone on inside corners and first half of eyelid
Concrete Minerals Seance to create cut crease, cat-eye, double/triple wings & lower lid
Concrete Minerals Strobelight on outer half of top lid, blended on top of cut crease and cat eye on upper lid & underneath Seance on bottom lid, and blended on inside corners of eyes and in between wings at outer corners
Moi Minerals Cosmetics Shimmers and Pearls on browbone and on inner tearduct of eye
Wet 'N Wild Black Kohl eyeliner pencil on waterlines, and on top lid
Wet 'N Wild MegaPlump mascara on top and bottom lashes
Dept. 18 False Lashes, blue & magenta zig zags (from Halloween)

Cheeks:
Moi Minerals Cosmetics eyeshadow Wish in hollows of cheekbones, and Valentine on apples of cheeks

Lips:
N.Y.C. red lip pencil in 957 & Wet 'N Wild lipstick in 514A

Now I know you're wondering... What's the good girl look?
Well... The lovely and talented Makeup Zombie has created the opposite look of mine- so you'll have to click her picture below to see "Good Girl"
